Construction and demolition waste is one of the largest volume waste streams going to BC landfills. The good news is that most of it can actually be diverted, recycled, or repurposed instead of buried.
We've built recycling into the standard scope of our demolition and construction work.
01 · Materials
Materials We Recycle
Most of what we remove from a job site ends up in one of these recycling streams.
Concrete.
The highest-volume material we recover. Where conditions allow, we crush it on-site for reuse as road base or structural fill, reducing both disposal costs and the carbon footprint of bringing in new aggregate.
Asphalt.
Highly recyclable. Processed at recycling facilities into reclaimed asphalt pavement (RAP), then used in new asphalt mixes.
Wood.
Dimensional lumber, plywood, and clean wood debris can be processed into mulch, biofuel, or engineered wood products.
Scrap metal.
Structural steel, rebar, copper wiring, and other metals have significant recycling value.
Brick and masonry.
Salvageable bricks can be cleaned and resold. Broken brick can be crushed for use as fill or landscaping material.
02 · LEED-certified
LEED-Compliant Green Demolition
LEED-certified projects typically require waste diversion rates of 75% or higher. We have experience documenting waste streams and providing the diversion reports needed for LEED certification.
If your project is pursuing LEED, involve us early. Recycling and diversion planning works best when it's built into the demolition scope from the start, not added later.
03 · Our approach
Our Approach to Sustainable Demolition
Recycling isn't just for LEED projects. It's part of how we work on every job where it makes sense.
By the time we deliver a clean site, the majority of what we removed has been diverted from landfill, processed for reuse, or recycled into new construction materials. It saves money and it's the right thing to do.

05 · FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I dispose of construction waste in BC?
Most jurisdictions require sorted disposal. Concrete and asphalt go to recycling facilities, metals to scrap recyclers, wood to wood recyclers, and only mixed or contaminated material to landfill. We handle this sorting as part of our service.
